Innovative Medical Therapies focused on healing rather than curing

IHR has developed an in depth range of medical treatments that offers both traditional forms of medical interventions such as surgery and pharmacological medication as well as alternative forms of treatments that are far less invasive. Whatever your medical tourism needs, be it everything from orthopaedic surgery and oncology all the way to controlling hypertension and diabetes, IHR offers a personalised treatment plan that suits your needs.

Kindly note that additional services such as convalescence care facilities, anesthesiologists, private nurses and additional medication must be added on to your health package.

Here are a few of the medical services we have on hand:

Otorhinolaryngology is the branch of medicine that deals with both medical and surgical prevention, diagnosis and therapy of diseases of the head-neck district, ie of the ear, nose (breathing and sleep apnea) and throat (voice and swallowing ), including, for example, surgical treatment of the thyroid and parathyroid glands, as well as the medical and surgical treatment of the tonsils, the base of the skull, the mouth, tongue, salivary glands, tumors of the cervical and facial district, etc.

Rheumatology is the branch of internal medicine that deals with the morbid conditions that affect the musculoskeletal system and the connective tissues of the organism. The term rheumatism is often misleading, as its understanding is not immediately associated with a specific organ or apparatus: it derives its origin from the Greek ῥεῦμα (rhèuma) in the meaning of flow, with the intention of describing a hypothetical mechanism of disease linked to the flowing, to the flow of pathological "humors" able to determine a morbid process.

Urology is a specialized medical and surgical branch that deals with diseases affecting the male and female urinary tract and external male genital organs. The main urological diseases include tumors of the urinary and male reproductive tract, including prostate cancer which is the most common tumor found in men, urination disorders and urinary calculosis which is among the first causes of access to the emergency room. The history of urology developed in very ancient times in southern Italy and in Magna Graecia, it seems that the first urologist documented in medical books carried out the first intervention in Sicily.

Dermatology (from the Greek derma, skin) is the branch of medicine that deals with diseases affecting the skin and skin appendages (hair, hair, nails, sweat glands). A doctor specializing in dermatology is a dermatologist. Dermosifilopatia, on the other hand, studies skin diseases associated with sexually transmitted diseases. Dermatologists are doctors who specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of skin diseases and tumors and their appendages. The first treatise on dermatology, De morbis cutaneis, is attributed to the Forlì doctor Girolamo Mercuriali. In Rome there is the Dermopathic Institute of the Immaculate, founded in 1912, considered the largest center of dermatology in Italy. The skin is the largest organ of the body and at the same time the most visible. Although some skin diseases exclusively concern the skin, many others are the manifestation of a systemic disorder, that is, that affects different tissues or organs of the body. Consequently the training of the dermatologist must include rheumatology (many rheumatic disorders can manifest with signs and symptoms at the level of the skin), immunology, neurology (eg "neurocutaneous syndromes", such as neurofibromatosis and tuberous sclerosis), infectious diseases and endocrinology. The study of genetics is progressively taking on greater importance. The finding of correlations between skin diseases (acne, alopecia, psoriasis, dermatitis, etc.) with emotional aspects and / or stress conditions (Psicodermatology) has also been ascertained. Historically venereology, who is in charge of diagnosing and treating sexually transmitted diseases, was born and refined as a branch of dermatology.

Dermatology includes many aspects both medical and surgical; for example surgical treatment of skin tumors (including Mohs micrographic surgery), laser surgery, photodynamic therapy, aesthetic treatments based on the use of botulinum toxin and on fillers based on hyaluronic acid (filler), sclerotherapy and liposuction, chemical peels. Among dermatologists, there are some particularly experts in some specific aspects of the specialist branch: The dermopathologist is a dermatologist expert in reading and interpretation of histological preparations. The pediatric dermatologist is an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of dermatological diseases in children. The immunodermatologist is an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of skin diseases with immunopathological etiopathogenesis, such as bullous diseases (pemphigus), lupus erythematosus, etc. Angiology and phlebology are also part of the dermatologist's cultural background.

Gynecology is a branch of medicine that sometimes deals with physiology, but above all with the pathology inherent to the female genital apparatus. It is the equivalent of andrology, the science that deals instead with the physiology and dysfunctions of the reproductive apparatus and male uro-urogenital apparatus.

Prevention is the technical-professional action or activity that aims to reduce mortality, morbidity or the effects due to certain risk factors or to a certain pathology ("prophylaxis"), promoting individual health and well-being and collective ("salutogenesis"). Prevention activities, being part of the broader activity of "health protection", are part of the professional skills typical of the health professions, in their various application fields (medical, nursing, obstetric, psychological ...).
